E190 Door Trainer

XR SIMULATION

A XR Training simulation for E190 Door Trainer

About the Project

At Tenhammer, I contributed to the development of an XR-based aircraft door training simulation for the Meta Quest 3, using Godot, GDScript, and C++. The project aimed to create a highly realistic and interactive training experience for aviation procedures.

  • Key Contributions:
    • Developed core XR interaction systems simulating complex aircraft door operations
    • Optimized performance and UI/UX for immersive, user-friendly training environments
    • Modeled detailed 3D interiors of aircraft components to support visual fidelity
    • Collaborated in a structured pipeline, managing milestones and using Git for version control

Technical Info

  • Headset & Platform:
    • Godot Engine (XR Plugin Integration)
    • Meta Quest 3
  • Languages & Tools:
    • GDScript—game logic, interaction systems
    • Performance-critical components, XR plugin work
    • Blender – 3D modeling of aircraft interiors and components
    • Git—version control and project collaboration
    • Godot XR Tools—Hand tracking, spatial input
    • Shader Graph/Visual Shaders—lightweight materials for performance

Performance Optimisation

  • Reduced draw calls and poly count for Quest 3 rendering
  • Baked lighting for realism without runtime cost
  • UI/UX tuned for headset clarity, comfort, and ease of use
  • Meta Quest 3
